Stephenie Hollyman

Stephenie is an accomplished American photojournalist, video-journalist and writer, best known for her work documenting global social issues and cultural stories. Her career, spanning several decades, has taken her across continents and into communities, often highlighting underrepresented voices. Hollyman’s photography and stories have been featured in prominent publications and her work has earned her several awards. A Fulbright Scholar, she’s also the author of three books. Her work as a backpack video journalist has been aired on CNN, ABC Nightline, TV Asahi and other venues.

She often immerses herself in her subjects’ lives, cultivating a level of trust that allows her to capture moments of authenticity and emotional depth. Some of her most notable work includes documenting the lives of marginalized communities, social movements, and cultural heritage in regions facing rapid change.

Stephenie lives on a boat in Berkeley Marina and also writes about maritime subjects.
